Why Bar Soap Is Leaving — and What We Learned From It

Why Bar Soap Is Leaving — and What We Learned From It

A transparent goodbye (for now).

When we first started Tallow CoCo, our bar soap was one of the OGs — simple, nourishing, and made with the same grass-fed, pasture-raised fat that makes all our skinfood so special.

But as we’ve grown, something became clear: bar soap takes a lot of tallow… and even more time.

🕰️ A Six-Week Soap Journey

Each bar needs about 6 weeks to cure — and in that time, we’re often selling out of our most-loved balms weekly. And unlike our whipped competitors, we don’t just add air to stretch a batch. We make our products dense, pure, and functional — which means every drop of tallow really counts.

The truth? We simply need to reserve that nutrient-rich fat for the skinfood you all keep coming back for — Hydrated & Supple, La Aloha, and everything in between.

🐄 Rooted in Regenerative — Even When It’s Slow

We’re still in the process of building out our relationships with regenerative farms. Our goal? A future where we have a never-ending, ethical supply of grass-fed tallow — so we can offer you everything, without compromise.

But right now, that supply is still growing. And we won’t cut corners to make it stretch.

🤎 Not a Goodbye — Just a See You Later

So for now, we’re pressing pause on bar soap. But not forever. Once we’ve partnered with more farms and scaled our supply — we’ll bring it back better than ever.

This decision comes from respect:
🧴 Respect for the ingredient
🌾 Respect for the animals and land
💛 And most of all, respect for you — our loyal skin friends who’ve grown with us.

Thank you for trusting the process. Thank you for understanding the slowness of small-batch, integrity-first care.

And thank you for loving the fat, like we do.
