Why tallow?

The makeup of tallow is bio-identical to the skin's sebum (natural oil the skin produces). That makes it easily recognized and absorbed by the skin. Being an animal product, the nutrients in tallow are bioavailable meaning once the tallow seeps into the bloodstream, the body knows exactly what the nutrients are and sends them directly to the area of the body that needs it the most.

Will tallow clog my pores?

No, it won't! Contrary to common belief clogged pores are a result of the lack of exfoliation. Tallow includes the untouched and unprocessed nutrients our skin needs to repair itself healthily. With that being said, to keep up with the regeneration of skin cells exfoliation is necessary. Check out our honey-based masks that are the perfect gentle exfoliant paired with the use of our tallow cream.

Does your creams smell like beef?

They do not! That's because we only source the suet tallow. In beef, there are two types of fat, trim fat which you find on the skin and around steaks, and suet fat which is the big chunks of fat that surround and protect the kidneys and liver. We only use suet because it is the cleaner fat and we're able to utilize the nutrients without the smell.
